Today’s Task
Attend a Networking Event or Webinar in your industry
In ancient times, people used simple tools like sticks and stones to survive, known as the Stone Age. Later on, during the Industrial Age, big factories making things like steel and rubber helped economies grow. Then came the Information Age, where knowing stuff became really important. This led to the rise of the Internet and services like email. Big companies like Google and Facebook started collecting a lot of data from people.
Nowadays, these data places turned into social networks, letting people connect with each other. We have online shops, sharing sites, and more, making companies like Amazon and Facebook really important in the tech world.
All of this shows that making connections with others is crucial. It’s like a ladder to success. Even if you start with nothing, like a person named Jho Low did (ignoring the not-so-good things he did), you can still become successful by knowing the right people. Your connections can determine how much influence you have.
Take someone I know, Alh Adamu. He might not be rich, but he knows a lot of people. In our neighbourhood, he can make things happen faster than rich folks because he has friends everywhere.
So, it’s a good idea to join events where you can meet new people. Learn from the best, make contacts, get customers, understand the industry, find partners, meet investors, get inspired, and build your reputation. Those people you meet might become more than just contacts – they could become friends who help you out when you need it.
Pro Tip: If you want to know more people, know more women. Women will take you to places your degree and money will not take you.
