How to Create Your Personal Website Yourself
- Get a domain from a domain seller
- Get good site hosting
- Install a Content Management Software of your choice on your hosting space
- Create your basic pages and populate them with content
- install a theme
- Customize your website to your satisfaction
Extra
- Use a caching plugin to reduce server load
- Use GZip compression or Brotli to make sure your pages are compressed before being served to clients
- Use Content Delivery Network (CDN) to make sure your site loads faster regardless of distance from server to client.
- Setup Google Search Console so your content can be found on Google
- Setup Google Analytics to monitor your page visits and engagement
- install an on-page SEO plugin

- Hosted on AWS
- Installed WordPress
- Created Home and Abou Me page
- Installed a blank Divi Theme
- Customize the site with my aesthetics
- I set a W3 Total Cache Plugin
- I enabled Brotli Compression
- I use Cloudflare CDN
- Setup Google Search Console and Google Analytics
